Participate and Be Part of Our Project!

The Social Integration and Well-being Project examines how new students develop friendships as well as how they feel during their first months at university.

Wonder if you're eligible?

Participants must be full-time first year undergraduate students and must be fluent in English. This study is open to participants of all gender identities and sexual orientations, and we especially encourage students who identify as mostly heterosexual/straight, bi-curious, bisexual, pansexual, lesbian, or gay to participate.

I'm eligible, what should I expect?

Upon completing a pre-screening survey, which aims to determine your eligibility for this study, you will have the chance to enter a prize draw for one of ten $20 Amazon e-vouchers and ten $10 Amazon e-vouchers.

Once we confirm your eligibility, we will invite you to join this 2-part study. If you agree to participate, you will be invited for a 1-hour online lab session in the coming few weeks (September 8ÔÇôOctober 18, 2020) and another 1-hour online lab session towards the second half of this term (October 21ÔÇôDecember 3, 2020). These online lab sessions will be hosted via Zoom. You will receive a $10 Amazon e-voucher for the first online lab session and an additional $15 Amazon e-voucher for the second online lab session.

Awesome! How do I participate?

To participate please click on this link, or paste "https://tinyurl.com/siUBCPaid" into your search bar, which will redirect you to our pre-screening survey. We will get back to you with more information if you are eligible. Thank you for being interested in our project!

I'm also a HSP Student, can I get credits instead?

Yes you can! The way you participate would be different. Please log into the HSP website/platform and look for our study title "Social Integration and Well-Being Study - Prescreening". Please make sure to sign yourself up in a timeslot and complete the survey before the specified deadline.

*Note: We are unable to switch you to different streams  (ie. From Non-HSP to HSP vice versa) due to the way that the system is configured. Please make sure to choose which you prefer Non-HSP (receive E-vouchers) or HSP
(receive credits)
