Mission The SNSA (once the SNCA, UBC Scandinavian and Nordic Cultural Association) provides a space for students to partake in both academic and social events, or students taking NORD, SWED, and DANI courses (which are also under the CENES department) to connect with each other. We offer academic and social events. Students can participate in Scandinavian and Nordic lectures, attend networking and departmental events (like Alumni Night), compete in trivia nights, and partake in Scandinavian traditions like fika and Lucia. We also have a standing committee for our undergraduate journal called The Scanner, where students can either gain professional development in editing, or publish their papers on Nordic topics. Our club works in tandem with the Nordic minor by promoting the courses, events, and student/faculty initiatives that we help run.
Membership BenefitsThe SNSA membership is 5.00 for each school year. Only Active Members of this AMS Club shall be eligible to vote, hold executive positions in the club, and sign club petitions. Besides being invited to all our public events, members are also invited to exclusive member socials.
Membership will end on 30 Apr 2025
