Our mission is to promote Indian Classical music within the Greater Vancouver area and give students a chance to practice and showcase their talent at various events throughout the year. Our goal is to use Sargam as a platform to showcase the genre of Indian Classical music to individuals of various musical backgrounds and provide members the opportunity to expand on the genre itself through fusion of various musical styles. We also encourage members to share their talents with others through frequent jam sessions, so that everyone can benefit from the wealth of knowledge that our members possess.

Sustainability and responsible consumption are important parts of the Bike Kitchen’s mission. That is why we recycle and reuse bicycles – not only does it keep bikes out of the landfill, but it also enables us to build bikes out of used parts for our various programs.

The AMS Children’s Literature Student Association builds a departmental community for student’s in the Children’s Literature Program at UBC. The Master of Arts in Children’s Literature (MACL) Program at UBC is a unique, multidisciplinary graduate program which explores all facets of children’s literature from its creation to its critical analysis and pedagogical approaches to the literature in interaction with children in schools, homes, and libraries. The program spans two faculties and four academic units including Creative Writing, English, Language and Literacy Education, and the iSchool (Library, Archival and Information Studies). Due to our program’s multidisciplinary nature, students in the program do not fit into one pre-existing student association at UBC. The AMS Children’s Literature Student Association allows students better access to AMS services in addition to creating a community of students within a program which is stretch across various departments.

This sociocultural club aims at bringing together the Coptic Orthodox community of students. The
club helps create a more familiar and homey atmosphere for students that have just joined the
university. The club is a great place for students to share their experiences and stories of Egypt and
its culture.It is also provides new younger students a great opportunity to meet and become friends
with more experienced senior students. We want to create a society of students that share an
interest towards Egyptian history, Coptic culture and Christian faith.
The club also serves as a portal to all students that are interested in learning more about the
Egyptian and Coptic society. We want to educate others about the richness and spirituality that the
Coptic Church has to offer in terms of books, language, hymnology and arts. We aim at objectively
portraying the Coptic Orthodox faith through Bible studies, general talks and other social and
spiritual gatherings.

Have you always wanted to develop a game in a team? Our Project Teams offer a focused environment and compete at our annual Year-End Showcase judged by local industry professionals! Returning teams are also welcome to join us again.

You can also join the club without being part of a Project Team - we have a Quest Board where you can take on a task put out by Project Teams and get experience/build up your portfolio.

The AMS Paint Club aims to build a community of artists! We encourage everyone who loves art or wants to build their skills to join our club, whether they are curious beginners or seasoned professionals! From charcoal to acrylic, we value all types of art forms.

When operating normally, we hold in-person art sessions where students gather to hone their skills, give support and advice, and to just relax and make some art together! The AMS Paint Club also aims to provide its members with high-quality art materials as part of the membership (watercolour paints, acrylics, etc). We also organize various events and workshops throughout the terms. With the transition online, we are looking to liven up our virtual sessions with art games, tutorials, and collaborations. As a relatively new club, we are looking forward to expanding our events and workshops to some really creative and fun times to come!

We are the very first Pilates Club at UBC that aims to improve the physical lives of the students at UBC in a safe, fun, and effective way. Although our club will operate as a general pilates club, we are currently only offering POP Pilates classes. While POP Pilates moves all originate from classical Pilates, the class design, relationship with music, sequencing and reps, differ from reformer classes and traditional mat classes. The fundamentals of breathing, core engagement and powerhouse-based movements are shared, however, the emphasis on moving to the beat of pop music is what makes POP Pilates so unique. Each 55 minute class is supposed to make students feel like it’s a “dance on the mat,” rather than just a typical exercise. Furthermore, this club will provide a positive and supportive community where students can comfortably exercise in.


In light of COVID-19, students will be asked to use provided hand sanitizer and to sign a health screening questionnaire. In order to maintain physical distancing of 2m (6ft), students will be admitted on a first-come first-serve basis until we reach reduced room capacity as determined by available space and AMS guidelines.
