Mission
Our mission is to promote Indian Classical/Fusion music within the Greater Vancouver area and let students showcase their talent at various events throughout the year. Our goal is to use Sargam as a platform to present the genre of Indian Classical music to individuals of various musical backgrounds and expand on the genre by fusing together various musical styles. We also encourage members to share their talents with others through frequent jam sessions so everyone can benefit from our members' wealth of knowledge.

Membership Benefits
By becoming a member you are able to be a part of club practices and perform at club events or events to which Sargam UBC receives invites.
Members are also allowed to purchase merchandise, although this is dependent on interest.

Musical experience is not required, but it is encouraged. We are more than happy to assist you, but we do not offer formal music training.

The Advocacy Office was established in 1999 to provide information and support to students facing the bureaucratic challenges and disciplinary committees of UBC. The office strives to provide students with information about UBCÔÇÖs policies and procedures when they are in a formal or informal conflict with the University. Although the office does not provide legal advice, the office offers confidential and effective support to any undergraduate and graduate student at UBC in regards to the disputes outlined below.
ÔÇó Non Academic Misconduct ÔÇô Non Academic Misconduct may include vandalism of University property, harassing others individuals, and stealing on Campus Grounds. We can also assist and advocate for the rights of students accused or complaining of sexual assault and sexual misconduct.
ÔÇó Academic Misconduct ÔÇô Academic Misconduct may include engaging or attempting to engage in cheating, plagiarism, falsifying information, etc.
ÔÇó Academic Standing ÔÇô Academic Standing refers to issues such as failing a grade or promotion to next level of studies.
ÔÇó Housing Appeals ÔÇô Housing incidents that relate to the UBC Resident Contract, subletting, etc.
ÔÇó Parking Disputes ÔÇô Appealing a Traffic Notice (Parking ticket disputes).
ÔÇó Library Fine Appeals ÔÇô Appealing library fines and other charges.
ÔÇó Miscellaneous - providing referrals to other appropriate services, providing
advice and information on topics not listed above.

Sustainability and responsible consumption are important parts of the Bike Kitchen's mission. That is why we recycle and reuse bicycles - not only does it keep bikes out of the landfill, but it also enables us to build bikes out of used parts for our various programs.

The AMS Children's Literature Student Association builds a departmental community for student's in the Children's Literature Program at UBC. The Master of Arts in Children's Literature (MACL) Program at UBC is a unique, multidisciplinary graduate program which explores all facets of children'sliterature from its creation to its critical analysis and pedagogical approaches to the literature in interaction with children in schools, homes, and libraries. The program spans two faculties and four academic units including Creative Writing, English, Language and Literacy Education, and the iSchool (Library, Archival and Information Studies). Due to our program's multidisciplinary nature, students in the program do not fit into one pre-existing student association at UBC. The AMS Children's Literature Student Association allows students better access to AMS services in addition to creating a community of students within a program which is stretch across various departments.

This sociocultural club aims at bringing together the Coptic Orthodox community of students. The
club helps create a more familiar and homey atmosphere for students that have just joined the
university. The club is a great place for students to share their experiences and stories of Egypt and
its culture.It is also provides new younger students a great opportunity to meet and become friends
with more experienced senior students. We want to create a society of students that share an
interest towards Egyptian history, Coptic culture and Christian faith.
The club also serves as a portal to all students that are interested in learning more about the
Egyptian and Coptic society. We want to educate others about the richness and spirituality that the
Coptic Church has to offer in terms of books, language, hymnology and arts. We aim at objectively
portraying the Coptic Orthodox faith through Bible studies, general talks and other social and
spiritual gatherings.
