This ethno-religious club aims at bringing together the Coptic Orthodox community of students at UBC. The club helps create familiar atmosphere for students that have just joined the university. The club offers a great place to share experiences and stories of Egypt and its culture, as well as to learn and grow in faith. It also provides new younger students an opportunity to meet and become friends with more experienced senior students. We want to create a society of students that share an interest in Coptic Orthodox Christian faith, Egyptian history, and Coptic culture. The club also serves as a portal to all students that are interested in learning more about the Coptic Orthodox faith and Egyptian Society. We want to educate others about the richness and spirituality that the Coptic Church has to offer in terms of theology, books, language, hymnology and arts. We aim to objectively portray the Coptic Orthodox faith through Bible studies, general talks, and other social and spiritual gatherings.
