About Us

The Middle East Studies Student Association is dedicated to bringing forth and broadening conversations on the region. MESSA aims to situate discussions within a global context by organizing academic and social events that offer the UBC community the opportunity to learn more about the Middle East and North Africa (broadly construed). Our focus is to create platforms for UBC students and faculty to engage more substantively with a highly relevant region and recognize its diverse and long-standing histories, religions, and cultures - celebrating the region as a whole.
