November 28th General Meeting

At our next general meeting we will be having a byelection to fill positions for Director of Public Relations and Social Media Chair. The current holders of these two positions positions will be out of the country on exchange next term, and so we will be accepting nominations at our meeting and voting in our new execs! Everyone is encouraged to run, especially those in the public relations commitee. Further details regarding these positions can be found at the end of this newsletter. 
 

If you cannot attend this meeting, please fill out the 'Meeting Absence Form'. 

Meeting Absences

In order to make excused absences easier to keep track of, we've decided to create a form for recording meeting absences. You must fill out this form in order to be marked 'excused' and receive the meeting minutes. From now onwards, please fill out this form instead of contacting the secretary. 











Decoration Night

We will be having a decoration making event during our regular meeting time at 6pm this Monday (November 21st). It will be open to all members and we will likely go out for dinner afterwards. 

Bring your pinecones!

Ticket Sales

We will be accepting cash in-person at the decoration-making event and will be booking a table this week in the nest. Tickets are 25$ for club members and 30$ for the general public.

Auction Items Needed

At Puppy Wonderland we hope to raise lots of money for PADS, and one of the ways we plan to do this is through a silent auction/raffle. If you have a connection to a business/organization you think might be insterested in providing auction items, please use the "Donation Request Script" to contact them. When you find an item for the auction, please register it in the "Auction Items" document. 

As of right now the deadline to confirm auction items is November 26th so please make sure to start looking for items as soon as possible! If you have any questions about the auction please email Heather at campuscaninesubc.external@gmail.com .

Upcoming Bylaw Changes

After the winter break, we will be reviewing our club bylaws. Since our club's establishment in 2021, we have noticed some changes we would like to see in our club's structure and organization. Before winter break, we will be sending out a form where members will be able to suggest ammendments to the club bylaws. The current bylaws can be found using the link below.

Descriptions of the positions from the Club Constitution and Bylaws:


Article IV Section 6. Director of Public Relations
The duties of the Director of Public Relations shall be as follows:
a. Serve as Chairperson of the Promo Committee;
b. Understand and abide by the PADS privacy/promotional guidelines;
c. Oversee all the club’s social media accounts and pages in accordance with the club’s brand standards;
d. Coordinate all club-related promotional materials, including digital and print;
e. Work closely with the Events Committee to support campaigns;
f. Actively promote membership and participation activities within the club;
g. Oversee photography and videography at all club events; and
h. Work closely with the Membership Committee to coordinate club day promotions and promotional materials for the recruitment of new members.

Article X Section 4. Social Media Chair
The Social Media Chair shall be an of icer within the Promo Committee whose duties shall be as follows:
a. Understand and abide by the PADS privacy/promotional guidelines;
b. Actively manage all the club’s social media accounts and pages in accordance with the club’s brand standards, including:
c. Reposting all tagged Instagram stories that include the club’s puppies-in-training or members in a timely manner, within reason;
d. Engaging with followers by liking and responding to comments;
e. Maintain the overall appearance of the social media pages; and
f. Assist with the posting of original, digital promotional materials on the club’s social media accounts, as directed by the Director of Public Relations.
