Mission
This sociocultural club aims at bringing together the Coptic Orthodox community of students. The
club helps create a more familiar and homey atmosphere for students that have just joined the
university. The club is a great place for students to share their experiences and stories of Egypt and
its culture.It is also provides new younger students a great opportunity to meet and become friends
with more experienced senior students. We want to create a society of students that share an
interest towards Egyptian history, Coptic culture and Christian faith.
The club also serves as a portal to all students that are interested in learning more about the
Egyptian and Coptic society. We want to educate others about the richness and spirituality that the
Coptic Church has to offer in terms of books, language, hymnology and arts. We aim at objectively
portraying the Coptic Orthodox faith through Bible studies, general talks and other social and
spiritual gatherings.

We are an interdenominational, international, Christian student community recognized on the UBC campus by the AMS and as a member of the ACC (Association of Christian Clubs). We believe that the Bible is God's Word and that God offers forgiveness of sin and the free gift of life to all through faith in Jesus Christ. We desire to be open to the dynamic work of God's Spirit in our midst. UCM at UBC is an interdenominational ministry supported by and accountable to the Pentecostal (Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada) Chaplaincy at UBC.

UCM's mission is to promote the spiritual life of university students by helping them enter into and grow in their relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Our vision is to foster a university community where opportunities are provided for worship, fellowship, discipleship, prayer, and outreach.
