About Us

The UBC Pre-Veterinary and Animal Welfare Club is open to those who may be considering a career in the veterinary field or simply have the desire to better the lives of animals. With both educational and social events hosted throughout the year, there is a place for every animal-lover! On one end, we are dedicated to connecting students with clear, up-to-date information on veterinary programs from across the globe. We organize vet talks and invite speakers from different schools to share details pertaining to pre-requisite courses, admissions, and program structure. It is our goal to ensure that potential applicants can easily access all the resources that they may need in order to pursue their veterinary dreams. On the other end, we also advocate for the welfare of animals in our community, whether that be through educational talks, fundraisers for animal-related organizations, or tours of veterinary and shelter facilities. In addition, we share volunteer and job openings with our members to give enthusiasts as many opportunities as possible. Ultimately, we aim to raise awareness about animal well-being, while shedding light upon the ways in which individuals can make a difference.
